The STAR Bulletin category has several subcategories.
Recall Bulletins
These are government mandated and are receive'd by MBUSA from DCAG. These
recalls are monitored for completion (by the dealer) and have to be completed
in 2 weeks time. Recalls never expire. Customers are contacted, and vehicles
are repaired as soon as possible.
These are done on a voluntary basis by MBUSA, but are also monitored by the Government. Repairs are performed by dealer when vehicle is in for service work.
Service Bulletins
These instruct on the repair of vehicle components/modification of tools/use
of tools etc. These are not diagnostic in nature like DTBs.
Installation Bulletins
These instruct on the installation (procedure) of systems and components.
DTB (Dealer Technical Bulletins)
These are diagnostic docs that must be released due to a urgent repair/diagnostic
condition to repair a vehicle. Usually released in 2 days.
